IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THIS RELEASE ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is the inital release of ER Management Suite 3.0 and forms the base release for future minor updates with this major version. KNOWN ISSUES IN THIS RELEASE ------------------------------------------------------------------------ When uninstalling ERMS the database and Virtual Directory/Web site that are created during the installation are not removed. This is a limitation of the installer and both items must be removed manually. DOCUMENTATION ERRATA ------------------------------------------------------------------------ None. NEW FEATURES - v3.1.0 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ * Site/General - All times are now managed as GMT. During the upgrade the database date/time fields are converted back to GMT. Users MUST set there Time Zone as part of there user preferences as this information is used to calculate to and from GMT. - All contacts defaults are now managed through the Client > Administration > Options > Default Preferences page. This includes the default theme for the log on page. See the online help for more information. - Hosted mode allows you to secure certain pages from being assigned. For more information see the online help for the Site > Administration > Options > Settings page. - Date fields now have a date select image, click on the image to select the desired date from a pop-up calendar. - Various code changes to improve performance and reduce memory footprint. * Client Management - If you support external companies rather than internal departments you can now change the mode that the suite runs in from department to company. This has the effect of changing the word department to company through-out the suite. - You can now define how a contacts full name is displayed (first name last name or last name first name) through the Full Name Format Field in Client > Administration > Options > Settings page. - All contacts defaults are now managed through the Client > Administration > Options > Default Preferences page. This includes the default theme for the log on page. See the online help for more information. - Users can now select from a list of pre-defined date and time formats through the Client > Administration > Options > Default Preferences page. - Users can display a clock on the left side of the page. This displays the estimated local time (based on the users time zone settings) and their selected time zone. - There are two new note reports, which will display all notes from various objects that relate to the user or department. - The Contact and Department Notes pages (which are part of the overview) now support text formatting and image insertion. See the online help for more information. - Detailed Contact Report this is a single page version of the Contact Overview. - A number of other reports have been updated to include more information. * Document Support - File Extension images are now controlled through the database table tblSiteFileExtns rather than being hard coded. This means you can point a new or existing file extension to a different image. - The location where document folders are created by default can be set as part of the Knowledge > Administration > Options > Settings page. - The document folder path can be locked, so that the default path is always used. This also hides the field. * Asset Management - You can now define you own assets and assign these to objects such as Tickets, To Do Tasks and Projects. Please refer to the Getting Started guide to find out more on how to setup and use assets. * Incident Management - Non-Billable and Billed Times are now displayed on the Ticket Information, Notes and Details pages. - Ticket notes now support text formatting and image insertion. See the online help for more information. - Tickets can now be deleted - Assets can be assigned to tickets * Project Management - Using the Project > Administration > Options > Review page you can customize the fields that will be included in the downloaded file when reviewing Project Task notes. - Project task notes now support text formatting and image insertion. See the online help for more information. - Assets can be assigned to projects - Detailed Project Report this is a single page report similar to that when you edit a project. * To-Do - To-Do task notes now support text formatting. ISSUES RESOLVED - v3.1.0 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ * On certain pages references to the spacer.gif image were not correct. These did not cause a visible issue, but are reported as broken link by the web server log files. ISSUES RESOLVED - v3.0.2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ KA10001: Project Times - Incorrect calculation of Project Times. KA10002: Login Dialog - The user name field on the login page only allows 40 characters, yet you can create a user name up to 100 characters. KA10003: Knowledge Document Scan - When scanning a document folder, documents where place in the root folder even though the documents are in a sub-folder KA10004: Knowledge Document Scan - Could not scan a document folder more than once without an error occuring. KA10005: Add Documents to Closed Ticket or Project - You could still add documents to a ticket or project that is closed. KA10006: Ticket Documents List View and Project Documents List View - When clicking on the "Show Removed" link you would get a message stating that the ticket id or project id is not valid. KA10008: The PDA [mobile device] screen layout displays the top part of the ERMS menu when the Menu Type is set to Split.
